From the archives: Spurs Nike Statement Edition Jersey Auction Comes to a Close

Originally posted February 24, 2020

The auctions for the Spurs first Nike Statement Edition jerseys that were worn by the Spurs recently closed on NBA Auctions. I had been waiting patiently for the Spurs jerseys to go on auction for some time as the auctions for the Statement Edition jersey for a number of other teams had already been posted and come to a close.

My patience paid off as I was the winning bidder on the Bryn Forbes jersey! Although Forbes may be struggling lately (although you could say that about pretty much the entire team), I could not pass up the opportunity to score a game worn jersey from the debut of the Nike Statement Edition and to add a piece of the #SummerofBryn to my Spurs collection.

Perhaps not surprising, Grandpa Juice himself, Manu Ginobili, had the highest bid at $5,420! In a way the winning bid, somewhat like the All-Star Game voting, is a reflection of the resurgent season Ginobili is having as a 40 year old.

The run down of the winning bids for each Spurs jersey is as follows (all prices in US dollars):

  • Manu Ginobili $5,420

  • Tony Parker $2,140

  • Patty Mills $1,550

  • Kawhi Leonard (game issued) $1,520

  • Danny Green $1,320

  • Dejuante Murray $1,220

  • LaMarcus Aldridge $1,020

  • Rudy Gay $620

  • Paul Gasol $610

  • Kyle Anderson $410

  • Joffrey Lauvergne $371

  • Bryn Forbes $360

  • Davis Bertans $330

  • Brandon Paul $320

  • Darrun Hilliard $290

  • Derrick White (game issued) $240

  • Matt Costello (game issue) $200
